Panels are a great way to learn from others. The MoxxieMade x Bumble Bizz Mentor Meet Up had unique trailblazers, such as Emily Curl (Refinery29 Producer) Anastasia Garcia (Photographer and Advocate), Katie Dalebout (Writer & Let it Out Podcast Host), Renae Bluitt (PR Consultant and Black Women Entrepreneurship Advocate), and Mira Mariah of GirlKnewYork (Tattoo and Illustration Artist, Disabilities advocate).

2019 is coming close to an end! There is less than a month and a half left for the rest of the year. Luckily, there is still some time to enjoy New York City, and some free events. For this week’s free NYC event list expect free food from Dig and Sweetgreen, Friendsgiving, nutrition tips for surviving the holidays, PopSugar Sugar Chalet, Digital Wellness Workshop, panels about starting a side hustle, women traveling solo, sex, and community leadership. In addition, events about learning from the immigrant perspective, sound bath meditation, and a live podcast discussion about anxiety and mental health.

Let’s Get Married: What to Talk About Before Tying the Knot (6pm-8pm)

Lawrence Lessig: They Don’t Represent Us: Reclaiming our Democracy (6pm-8pm)

What: In his new book, They Don’t Represent Us, Harvard Law School professor Lawrence Lessig charts the ways in which the fundamental institutions of our democracy respond to narrow interests rather than to the needs and wishes of the nation’s citizenry. He explores the causes and consequences of “unrepresentativeness” and calls for significant reforms including public campaign funding, a reformed Electoral College, and a nationwide ban on partisan gerrymandering.
